Warehouse fire in East Village temporarily shuts down traffic near I-5 exit

A fire erupted inside an abandoned warehouse in the East Village early Thursday, prompting road closures while crews doused the flames.

The blaze in the 100 block of 16th Street was reported shortly after 7 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
