Road closures, start times and other things to know about San Diego’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon 2025

(FOX 5/KUSI) — This weekend’s annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon will take thousands of runners through central San Diego streets, causing road and even highway closures and other impacts to several of the city’s key neighborhoods.

A 5K race is on Saturday morning, with the marathon and half-marathon on Sunday. All start at Balboa Park, with the longer races passing through Bankers Hill, Hillcrest, North Park and Normal Heights before the full marathon continues toward Mission Bay and Mission Valley, then returns to the finish at Waterfront Park.

Registration for the races is still open, but people not running can still attend the health and fitness exposition at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday and Saturday and can head out on race day to the course to cheer on runners.

The exposition is Friday from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry is free and will feature information on running technology, apparel and health and nutrition…
