SAN DIEGO — SeaWorld San Diego is celebrating the arrival of two male bottlenose dolphin calves, Jupiter and Phin, marking a milestone for the park’s long-standing dolphin program.
Born in late 2024 and early 2025, Jupiter and Phin are thriving under the care of their first-time mothers, Corona and Coco. Both calves are nursing, growing rapidly, and displaying the curiosity and social behaviors typical of healthy young dolphins, according to SeaWorld officials.
“These births are a testament to the strong maternal instincts of their moms and the dedication of our animal care team,” said Wendy Ramirez, curator of zoological operations at SeaWorld San Diego. “To have three generations of dolphins thriving under our care is a remarkable accomplishment and a sign of a healthy, socially dynamic pod.”
Coco, 17, gave birth to Phin, while Corona, mother of Jupiter, is the daughter of Cometta, one of the park’s long-time residents. Animal care specialists are closely monitoring the calves, who will join the larger dolphin pod once they reach key developmental milestones…
