CHERRY VALLEY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — If you’re yearning for a fragrant escape without venturing too far from San Diego, a Cherry Valley farm is inviting guests to explore a dreamy world of purple blooms, mouthwatering treats, and charming activities for all ages.
Located roughly two hours from downtown, 123 Farm is hosting its 21st Annual Lavender Festival from now through most of July. The festival offers a sensory journey through vibrant lavender fields, delectable lavender-infused cuisine, and a plethora of family-friendly activities.
What to expect
Guests can stroll through 20 acres of organic lavender fields, capturing stunning photos all while being immersed in the soothing aroma of the popular flower. There’s also an option to embark on a guided tractor-pulled wagon tour of the fields, with the conductor sharing the farm’s history and even making a stop in front of a majestic 1,000-year-old oak tree.

Food, drinks and music
The festival also boasts savory and unique dishes like lavender burgers, sourdough pizzas, chicken sandwiches, and even lavender carne asada fries. Guests looking for a sweet fix can sip on lavender lemonade or enjoy a spoonful of lavender ice cream. Lavender-inspired cocktails will also be available, along with beer and wine.
Live musical performances will also take take place every night, adding to the festival’s vibrant atmosphere. Guests can hangout at various tables that have been set up in the grass under the farm’s sprawling trees — designated for eating, drinking and enjoying the music.
Private s’mores fire pits are also available for rent. This includes a kit with graham crackers, classic chocolate bars, the farm’s organic lavender chocolate, and marshmallows.
Workshops, demonstrations and marketplace
