The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office has provided details surrounding the death of Linda Bagby, a 53-year-old inmate who was pronounced dead at the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility. Last Friday, at approximately 4:25 PM, deputies discovered Bagby unresponsive in her cell while distributing dinner, according to an update from the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies immediately called for emergency services, began CPR, and the facility’s medical staff was alerted.
Despite the rapid response, paramedics and the Santee Fire Department’s efforts to save her life, Bagby was pronounced deceased at around 4:35 PM. The El Cajon resident had been in custody since January 3, facing charges that included assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and felony vandalism, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reported.
