SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A police officer saved a lucky dog from a burning apartment in San Diego before firefighters got to the scene.
San Diego Police Officer Wyatt Basson is seen in the photo below, released by the San Diego Police Department, saving Rocky from an apartment that was on fire near 43rd Street and University Avenue in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego.

The police department posted Officer Basson ran into a burning apartment unit to search for trapped residents and found Rocky, a pet in one of the apartments. Police say the dog was a little scared but was not injured.
The San Diego County Fire Department took over battling the fire after police cleared the building.
