The fire agency said the brush fire was burning at 100 acres at a moderate rate of spread as of Friday afternoon and firefighters were standing by on the U.S. side just east of Campo.

This comes as firefighters have been busy this week battling several brush fires that broke out across the region, including the Border 6 Fire, a brush fire that was burning along the U.S.-Mexico border wall on the Mexico side Monday night also near Campo, along with two fires that have prompted evacuation orders and warnings just miles apart in Lakeside — the Hawick Fire and Monte Fire.
