SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Firefighters were able to stop the forward rate of spread of a brush fire that was threatening homes in Bonsall Saturday afternoon.
Evacuation warnings were issued for residents near Chariot Court and La Primavera Drive in Bonsall to be ready to evacuate after a brush fire — dubbed the Chariot Fire — broke out around 2:40 p.m. Saturday.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department at 3:30 p.m. issued an evacuation warning for nearby areas.
Cal Fire San Diego and San Diego County Fire said the fire was two acres and was burning in “light, flashy fuels,” but that firefighters were able to stop the forward rate of spread by 3:40 p.m.
