SAN DIEGO (Border Report) β The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is reporting that Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., has been arrested by U.S. immigration officers and is being processed for expedited removal from the country.
DHS posted the note on its X social media site.
According to DHS, Chavez who is a Mexican citizen, has an active arrest warrant in Mexico for his alleged involvement with organized crime and the trafficking of firearms, ammunition, and explosives.
A news release on its website says that βin August 2023, Chavez entered the U.S. illegally with a B2 tourist visa that was valid until February 2024 β Chavez is also believed to be an affiliate of the Sinaloa Cartel, a designated Foreign Terrorist Organization.β…
