Phone numbers to call for emergencies, non-emergencies in San Diego County

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — In major emergencies, people should call 9-1-1. Law enforcement offices in San Diego County also have separate phone numbers for individuals to report non-emergency incidents.

Emergencies include incidents that need immediate assistance such as fires, crimes, car crashes or medical emergencies. Non-emergency incidents include all other incidents that may not require immediate assistance from police, fire or medical personnel or are not considered life-or-death situations.

For issues that do not require immediate assistance, call the following non-emergency numbers for the relevant areas in San Diego County.

  • Is someone’s life or property in danger or is there something posing a hazard to the environment?
  • Is there a crime currently in progress or one that happened within the last five to ten minutes?
  • Is someone having a medical emergency and needs immediate assistance?
  • Is there a fire?
