The dog had already been euthanized by veterinarians prior to the owner coming forward. Unfortuantely vets could not save the dog due to the fatal extent of its injuries. According to officials, the dog’s remains were preserved for evidence, and criminal charges are now being prepared by the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office.
