Chula Vista ADU contractor facing state criminal investigation

The state agency in charge of regulating California contractors said it’s now looking into whether employees at a now-defunct Chula Vista company should face criminal charges.

Earlier this year, NBC 7 Investigates told you about over a hundred civil claims filed against Multitaskr. Former clients said the accessory dwelling unit (ADU) contractor took out enormous construction loans under each of their names for work that, in most cases, never even started.

Today, Multitaskr no longer appears to operate. Its physical office in Chula Vista is shuttered, and its state corporate filing expired.

When NBC 7 Investigates reported on Multitaskr this past January, its license was suspended after more than a dozen complaints on the Contractors State License Board (CSLB) website.
