Four arrests were made during an operation conducted by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office’s Homeless Assistance Resource Team as part of the agency’s response to illegal homeless encampments and public complaints, it was announced Friday.
The operation was conducted Wednesday in Lakeside and El Cajon, with 30 citations issued for various offenses that include excessive trash and debris originating from motorhomes parked in a residential neighborhood, where 11 vehicles were towed, the agency reported.
Officials said sheriff’s deputies had offered a “wide range of resources” to people in the area experiencing homelessness, including shelter, mental health services and substance abuse treatment. Deputies also warned the individuals that camping on private property was prohibited…
