Suspect arrested after robbery at Chase Bank in South Bay

IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of robbery at a bank in Imperial Beach.

The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at a Chase Bank in the 1100 block of Palm Avenue, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

A customer was making a cash deposit with a bank teller when the suspect approached the woman from behind, grabbed her money and ran out of the bank, according to authorities. The suspect then got into a car and drove away.
