Two pedestrians killed in separate train accidents in Carlsbad and Vista

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities are investigating after two people were killed in two separate train collisions in northern San Diego County in the past week.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a COASTER train in the area of Chestnut Avenue and Washington Street, south of Carlsbad Village Drive, in Carlsbad around 8:41 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, according to the North County Transit District (NCTD).

The fatal collision stopped COASTER service in the area south of the Carlsbad Village Station and a BREEZE bus was brought in to transport riders…
