Evacuation orders lifted for brush fire in Spring Valley

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A fast-spreading brush fire in Spring Valley prompted temporary evacuation orders on Friday afternoon.

Cal Fire firefighters were battling a brush fire that broke out near Jamacha Blvd. and Double Tree Road in Spring Valley around 2 p.m. Friday, which was burning at a critical rate of spread, the agency reported.

As of 2:30 p.m., the brush fire — named the Lodge Fire — had grown to 20 acres, and an evacuation order was issued for the neighborhood surrounding Doubletree Road and Barbit Road in Spring Valley…
