SAN DIEGO COUNTY, Calif. — Fire crews were able to quickly stop the spread of a brush fire that started in Escondido near San Pasqual Valley Road on Monday. The fire was sending large plumes of smoke into the air that could be seen by the Alert California cameras.
The fire quickly grew to approximately 3 acres at a moderate rate of spread, according to CalFire, before crews were able to stop the forward rate of spread around 11 a.m.
Fire crews will remain in the area for several hours to make sure all hot spots have been extinguished.
