Storm Mario to bring flash flooding and dry-lightning strikes to California

Forecasters warn that a tropical storm will make Southern California feel more like Florida this week. Increased moisture will trigger unstable weather, including flash flooding.

Remnants of Storm Mario have already caused many lightning strikes offshore in the region, including around San Luis Obispo and Ventura counties.

This could cause further chaotic weather, including fires from dry-lightning strikes or flash floods and debris flows, the National Weather Service warned, but this depends on how strong they are.
