NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — A National City woman was arrested Tuesday night after leading police on a brief pursuit with five children in the vehicle, according to the National City Police Department (NCPD).
The incident began shortly before 10 p.m. when officers parked in a lot near E 18th Street and Highland Avenue noticed a vehicle driving erratically as it entered the lot. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, prompting a short pursuit.
Police say the chase ended when the driver collided with a curb and struck a city street sign. The driver, later identified as 33-year-old Angelica Sanchez of National City, was taken into custody without incident.
