San Diego Humane Society asks for special request for bears

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego Humane Society’s Ramona Wildlife Center is asking for the public’s help in gathering acorns, persimmons and pomegranates for bear cubs under their care.

The reason for the need of these fruits is to help keep the bears nourished and for them to practice the foraging skills they’ll need to survive in the wild, the animal facility said on a Facebook post Tuesday.
