High School Student Builds Website to Help Connect San Diego’s Homeless Population with Resources

A San Diego high school junior is using technology and compassion to make a difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.Hayden Hughes, who has volunteered at a downtown homeless shelter with his sister and father for the past four years, came up with a meaningful idea for his Eagle Scout service project — building a website that compiles critical resources for people in need across the county.“I’m working with upwards of fifty organizations now,” Hughes said.The site organizes resources by age category and offers listings for everything from free showers and meals to emergency shelters.
