SAN DIEGO — A San Diego man who says he was poisoned during last year’s E. coli outbreak linked to Miguel’s Cocina in 4S Ranch has filed the latest lawsuit against the restaurant and its parent company, The Brigantine, Inc.
The complaint, filed October 10 in San Diego Superior Court, accuses the restaurant of negligence, strict product liability, and breach of implied warranty after plaintiff Jeremy Byrd and his stepbrother became violently ill following a meal at the 4S Ranch location in October 2023.
According to the lawsuit, Byrd and his stepbrother “were both poisoned with food served to them … containing human and/or animal feces contaminated with a deadly, virulent strain of E. coli bacteria, Shiga-Toxin-Producing E. coli”…
