Sheriff’s Sub-Station reinstates Crime Suppression Team

The San Diego Sheriff’s Office Valley Center Sub-Station, which serves a diverse and expansive area of about 340 square miles and 20,000 residents, has reinstated its specialized Crime Suppression Team (CST) following recent improvements in staffing levels.

This service area includes five tribal reservations and four casinos, with terrain ranging from residential neighborhoods to rural wilderness, including the Palomar Mountain region and Hellhole Canyon Preserve. Deputies maintain a 24/7 presence, navigating the unique challenges of providing law enforcement across such varied geography and communities.

Originally launched to address emerging crime trends through targeted enforcement and intelligence-driven investigations, CST was temporarily paused due to staffing constraints.
