San Diego Unified School Board passes the proposal to change schedules for some high schools

SAN DIEGO — On Tuesday, the San Diego Unified School Board passed a proposal to change the class schedules at three high schools in the district, implementing a 4×4 block schedule for Madison, Mira Mesa and Canyon Hills High Schools.

The approved block schedule would have students attend four longer periods each day instead of the current six classes per day that last throughout the year.
