San Diego man wounded in random shooting on Palomar Mountain

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A San Diego man is recovering from serious injuries after he was shot by a stranger earlier this month while visiting a scenic overlook on Palomar Mountain.

Joseph Valentino said the gunman appeared to target him because of his race. Sheriff’s investigators are still searching for the shooter.

Valentino said the attack happened around 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 along Highway 76. He told deputies he was sitting in his car enjoying the view when someone tapped on his rear window…
