Child Struck by Car in Poway Sustains Non-Life Threatening Injuries, Community Calls for Improved Road Safety

Tragedy was narrowly avoided in Poway yesterday when a 12-year-old was struck by a car. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 8:30 AM, deputies from the Poway Sheriff’s Station rushed to the scene following reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident on Twin Peaks Road, just east of Espola Road.

Witnesses present at the time of the incident told deputies that, running across the road that wasn’t a designated pedestrian crossing, the juvenile was hit by a westbound vehicle.
