Community Invited to Help Name New Supportive Housing

CHULA VISTA — The City’s Housing and Homeless Services Department is inviting community members to help choose the name for a new permanent supportive housing development currently under renovation at the former Palomar Motel site, located at 1160 Walnut Avenue.

Purchased by the City in October 2023, the property is being converted into 27 studio apartments designed for individuals experiencing homelessness. According to City officials, the development will combine affordable, long-term housing with voluntary support services such as case management, mental health care, substance use counseling, and job training.
