Flood watch, advisories in effect across San Diego County amid Pacific storm

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Pacific storm is drenching San Diego County, prompting multiple flood alerts Saturday as heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms sweep through the region.

Flood advisory

The National Weather Service issued a flood advisory for San Diego and Riverside counties, in effect until 11:43 a.m. Saturday, warning that excessive rainfall is expected that could lead to minor flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas. This advisory includes coastal zones and inland valleys.

Communities experiencing flooding or likely to see impacts include Chula Vista, El Cajon, Vista, La Mesa, Poway, Ramona, Alpine and Tierrasanta, according to NWS.

Residents in hilly terrain are urged to use extreme caution, as “hundreds of low-water crossings” can become dangerous quickly during downpours…
