SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crime data compiled by the Major Cities Chiefs Association shows the homicide rates in San Diego have dropped in the first nine months of this year compared to the same time period last year.
According to police data gathered from San Diego, there were 28 homicides reported between Jan. 1 to Sept. 30 of this year compared to 37 during the same time last year — a 24% decrease.
Homicides declined or stayed the same in most of the major cities across the United States.
