SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A 35-year-old man was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Friday night after he was struck by a motorcycle while crossing a busy intersection in Pacific Beach, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The crash happened around 9:20 p.m.in the 1900 block of Garnet Avenue, where investigators say the pedestrian was walking southbound in the east crosswalk against the red “don’t walk” signal. At the same time, a 21-year-old man riding a Suzuki 1500 motorcycle was heading east on Garnet Avenue when he collided with the pedestrian.

Police said the impact left the pedestrian with severe injuries, including a lacerated liver, a fractured femur and multiple additional fractures. Medics transported the individual by ambulance to a local hospital. Their current condition is known.
Meanwhile, the motorcyclist suffered multiple abrasions, police said.
SDPD’s Traffic Division responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash…
