San Diego’s Waterfront to Sparkle with the 55th Annual Bay Parade of Lights

San Diego is once again set to shimmer along its waterfront with the 55th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights. This long-standing holiday tradition transforms the bay into a spectacle of twinkling vessels. Scheduled for December 14 and December 21, the Parade of Lights boasts around 80 boats festooned according to this year’s theme, “An Out of this World Christmas.” Over 100,000 onlookers are expected to gather and watch the procession, which kicks off from Shelter Island at 5:30 PM, as per the Port of San Diego.

Embracing the festive spirit, the Port of San Diego has stepped up as a proud sponsor, echoing the sentiments of Chair Danielle Moore. “The Port is proud to support this iconic event every year and welcome all to experience the magic of the holidays along our waterfront,” Moore remarked, per the Port of San Diego. As the flotilla sails from the North and South Embarcadero to Cesar Chavez Park Pier, finally docking at the Coronado Ferry Landing, attendees are encouraged to stake out spots early at key locations for prime viewing.

The Maritime Museum of San Diego is offering a particularly enticing vantage point with their Parade of Lights Dinner on the historic steam ferryboat, Berkeley. Visitors can combine culinary delights with the visual treat of boats gliding by the Museum’s fleet. Dinner service starts at 5:00 PM, with the boat anticipated to pass the Museum, located between Grape and Ash Streets, around 6:20 PM, as detailed on the Parade of Lights’ official page…
