San Diegans unite to bring holiday cheer to Tijuana orphanage

SAN DIEGO — San Diegans are rallying together to spread holiday joy to more than 30 children living at an orphanage in Tijuana, with a donation drive underway at a McDonald’s in San Ysidro.

The McDonald’s located at 707 West San Ysidro Boulevard is collecting basic necessities, including clothing, pajamas, and shoes to deliver to the Nazareth Orphanage in Tijuana. The drive, organized for the second year in a row, aims to brighten the holidays for the children at the facility.

“More than their smiles, their eyes, the expression of gratitude you see when they open their gifts, that is something you can always cherish,” said Rosie Mentado, the general manager of the McDonald’s on West San Ysidro Boulevard…
