On November 26, around 12:10 p.m., multiple callers contacted 911 about a man with a knife who was running around, screaming and lunging at cars near the intersection of Centre City & 13th Avenue (the same intersection as Sprouts.) Escondido PD responded and upon arrival the man ran towards an officer with knife in hand resulting in an officer related shooting. The suspect, later identified as Juan Ramos, 54. was taken to a local hospital. Doctors operated on him successfully.
The San Diego Police Dept. Homicide Unit is leading the investigation into the incident. The EPD has an agreement with other police departments in the County, to submit officer-shooting related incidents to other departments for investigation. This investigation will then be reviewed by…..
