New Affordable Housing Community Opens in City Heights, Offering Support and Homes for Local Residents

A new affordable housing community, Serenade on 43rd, has opened in City Heights. The development provides 65 units for working families and individuals transitioning from homelessness. It includes a four-story building with 45 units and two two-story buildings with 20 renovated apartments. Thirty-two units are set aside for permanent supportive housing for people who have experienced homelessness.

Residents pay rents based on 30% to 60% of the Area Median Income, with monthly costs between $1,737 and $2,481. The County contributed $6.4 million from No Place Like Home funds and will offer on-site behavioral health and wellness support for 20 years.
