Pro-Surfer Draws Backlash After Video Appears To Show Golf Balls Driven Into Ocean Above San Diego’s Blacks Beach

A short social media video posted by professional surfer Jacob Szekely, known as “Zeke,” showing a person driving golf balls into the Pacific Ocean from a bluff above Blacks Beach has sparked widespread backlash online, with critics accusing the surfer and others in the video of reckless behavior and environmental disregard at one of San Diego’s most sensitive coastal areas.

The video, which appears to be an Instagram Story post, shows a shirtless man wearing a backward baseball cap swinging a golf club from a concrete pad above Blacks Beach. A location tag reading “Blacks Beach, San Diego, CA” is visible, along with the caption “Sickest Driving Range.” Several other young men appear nearby, watching and laughing as golf balls are hit in the direction of the shoreline below.
