Firefighters knock down fire at vacant building in downtown San Diego

(FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire at a vacant commercial building in the East Village neighborhood of downtown San Diego Friday morning.

According to the emergency app PulsePoint, San Diego Fire-Rescue crews were dispatched to a building on fire in the 1400 block of National Ave. shortly before 10 a.m.

SDFD confirmed one person had been taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation…
