San Diego Honda dealers surprise Poway mom, son with thousands in gifts

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego Honda Dealers surprised a Poway mother and her autistic son with thousands of dollars in gifts and cash at Bernardo Winery’s Holiday Nights event, providing critical support for their growing cookie business.

Laura Bache and her son Oli, who has severe autism, received $2,000 toward a much-needed cookie depositor machine, along with gifts for Oli including a train set, truck, and keyboard. The Honda Elves also provided a cookie buyout that gave free cookies to the first 50 families, adding approximately another thousand dollars to the family’s stocking.

“You are one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met and such a special mother,” said Jeff Zevely, from CBS 8 who helped facilitate the surprise at the winery event…
