A former Valley Center woman, Jane Dorotik, 79, whom Sheriff’s homicide detectives accused of murdering her husband in 2000 and was convicted the following year, spending two decades in prison has settled with the County of San Diego for about $500,000.
DNA evidence that wasn’t available to the detectives 25 years ago led to the overturning of Dorotik’s conviction in 2020.
