Deputies say a man barricaded himself inside a home on the 1600 block, prompting tactical teams and crisis negotiators to move in and try to talk him out.

The Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station confirmed that its Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the scene, and deputies urged the public to steer clear of the area until further notice, according to FOX 5 San Diego. Nearby homes were evacuated as deputies set up a perimeter and negotiators worked to make contact with the man inside.

Deputies were called just after 6 a.m. to the 1600 block of Canyon Road for a report of a man suspected of violating a restraining order, ABC 10News reports. Deputies helped other people in the home get out safely, then continued trying to reach the subject. When he refused to come out, a special enforcement unit was brought in and negotiations kept going.
