“Christmas Circle” clean up continues from powerful storm

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Another storm moved into San Diego County on Friday as many residents were still cleaning up damage from a powerful system that struck on Christmas Eve, leaving fallen trees, damaged homes and scattered debris across parts of the South Bay.

In Chula Vista’s well-known Christmas Circle neighborhood, high winds tore through streets famous for elaborate holiday light displays that draw hundreds of visitors each year. The storm that hit Wednesday night left behind broken decorations, fallen trees and damaged property along Mankato Street.

Christmas Circle is typically known for its arches of lights over sidewalks and carefully crafted displays that homeowners spend weeks preparing. After the storm, many of those decorations lay toppled or crushed beneath fallen branches…
