Family of 20-year-old who was shot at dozens of times by San Diego police while in a parked car files lawsuit

SAN DIEGO — The family of a 20-year-old man who was shot at dozens of times by San Diego Police officers in April 2025 while sitting in his car has filed a lawsuit against the city of San Diego.

In a newly filed lawsuit, obtained by CBS 8, the mother and father of Kevin Brayan Garcia Gonzalez say their son did not pose any risk to the public and was talking to officers for 45 minutes before a handful of police officers opened fire.
