SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A winter storm has been drenching San Diego County to ring in the new year, prompting flooding advisories, causing traffic accidents and also leading to multiple water rescues.

From the coast to the mountain communities, rainfall totals climbed steadily through Thursday with high pressure temporarily building in behind the storm before the next low pressure system moves in this weekend.
