Man dies after restraint by El Cajon police; SDPD investigating

EL CAJON, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) – A 52-year-old Vietnamese man, whose identity has not yet been released, has died after being restrained by El Cajon Police officers. The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) is investigating.

The initial incident occurred on Jan. 4 around 6 a.m. near Magnolia and West Chase Avenues.

According to SDPD, the El Cajon Police Department received reports of a man who was running through traffic and yelling for help. Officers said that when they arrived at the scene and tried to contact the man, he lay face down in the street and did not follow their commands…
