SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — As you look south toward Tijuana from the San Ysidro Port of Entry, a thick layer of haze hangs over the city.
In recent months, poor air quality has prompted the Secretary of the Environment and Sustainable Development in Baja California to issue several bad-air quality warnings to residents in Tijuana asking them to limit outdoor activity due to poor air quality.
Another warning went out Wednesday morning.
AccuWeather, an independent air quality monitoring site, is also warning Tijuana residents to remain indoors as much as possible calling the air “unhealthy,” saying “effects can be immediately felt by sensitive groups,” and that “healthy individuals may experience difficulty breathing and throat irritation with prolonged exposure.”…
