San Diego’s sidewalk vendor law may be in legal jeopardy

SAN DIEGO — A state appellate court has ruled that San Diego’s street vendor regulations fly in the face of state law. The appellate court has sent the issue back to a trial court on whether or not the city can continue enforcing it.

In a Jan. 22 appellate court ruling, judges ruled in favor of longtime vendor, Imhotep Mustaqeem, thus reopening his case over the legality of the vending ordinance.
