Report Shows Small Increase In Suicide Deaths In San Diego County

San Diego County is getting a report card on its effort to curb suicide.

The report finds the number of suicides in the county has increased every year since 2021. Yeni Linqui Palmnino with the suicide prevention council tells KOGO News there is help available.

“(There are resources) people can connect to, to be able to learn the warning signs, the resources that are available, and how to have that difficult conversation with loved ones or even just with anybody in their community.”

The Council’s report finds there were 377 suicide deaths in San Diego in 2024, a three percent increase. However, that’s down from a high of 435 in 2018…
