Bedda Bringing All-Day Italian Dining to South Park

Bedda, a new all-day Italian dining concept, is getting ready to open in San Diego’s South Park at 3015 Juniper Street.

The restaurant will take over the former home of Matteo bakery, which opened in early 2020 and closed permanently in December 2025 after nearly five years, according to SanDiegoVille. Bedda is led by Angela Catania, who also owns Carbon Angela’s Kitchen. A soft opening is planned for the week of February 10–15, with daytime brunch and lunch service, plus an evening tapas-style bar serving small plates and cocktails.

Bedda’s daytime menu will feature pastries, cookies, gelato, grab-and-go items, focaccia sandwiches, charcuterie, and a deli component. In the evening, the menu shifts to hot and cold tapas plates designed for sharing, complemented by vermouth-forward cocktails, sangria, and wine. Reservations will be introduced once operations are fully settled, offering flexibility for both casual and planned visits…
