A 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday in Lemon Grove after deputies say he assaulted his estranged partner, took off, and was later found with a stash of guns, ammo, and what they described as a large quantity of methamphetamine.
How deputies say the arrest unfolded
Deputies from the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation were called just after noon to a reported domestic-violence incident in the 7700 block of North Avenue, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Bryson Benavente. The victim told deputies she had been assaulted the night before.
The suspect, identified by deputies as 40-year-old Aaron Brozek, was described as a convicted felon. Officials say he ran from the residence and later told the victim he would commit “suicide by cop” if officers contacted him.
Deputies say they tracked Brozek to the area of the 8700 block of Navajo Road. According to authorities, he threatened deputies and advanced toward them before they used a conducted-energy device and a sheriff’s K-9 to take him into custody…
