A MAJOR parking change has left motorists steaming over the exorbitant cost to park in what were once free spaces.
Now, they’re being forced to pay at least $5 and up to $16 a day for parking, an exceptional price hike that may not even be generating a net gain in revenue for the city.
In addition to the daily parking price hike, previously unmetered spots will now charge at least $2.50 an hour to park at Balboa Park.
While these rates are still cheaper than commercial lots in San Diego, often charging $30 a day for parking, drivers will still be getting hit with a major addition to the cost of living in an already expensive city…
