CORONADO, Calif. — The Hotel del Coronado has terminated its partnership with Bill Pavlacka, the celebrated sandcastle artist known as “The Sandcastle Man,” after citing violations of hotel policies. The separation took effect February 5.
Pavlacka has created elaborate sand sculptures outside the luxury beachfront hotel since 2008, becoming a beloved fixture of the Coronado Island community and a must-see attraction for visitors. Hotel management informed him Thursday that he could no longer create his masterpieces on the property.
